Sofitel Chicago Water Tower in Chicago Illinois, USA The recently opened Sofitel Chicago Water Tower was designed by world renowned Paris-based architect, Jean-Paul Viguier. Situated in the heart of the North Michigan Avenue shopping district, the Sofitel is ideally located for both business and pleasure - one block west of Chicago's Magnificent Mile and just 40 minutes from O'Hare International Airport. This spectacular new hotel also has a modern, French-influenced interior comprising 415 guestrooms, including 63 suites. Upon entering one of those rooms, the guest is greeted with sweeping city and Lake Michigan views, as well as elegant marble baths and interactive Web TV. Gourmet restaurants, a fully equipped fitness center, business center, concierge, doorman, and 24-hour security staff are just a few of the luxury amenities available to Sofitel guests. Because a large percentage of the Sofitel's guests are upscale business travelers, security is of primary concern to the management staff. In order to adequately secure the valuable electronic equipment and sensitive business documents likely to be left in the guestrooms, the property chose the Elsafe M-28 model. Installed in June 2002, the safes provide peace of mind for Sofitel guests. Elsafe's industry-leading audit trail capabilities provide that same peace of mind to Sofitel staff and management. According to Regional Sales Manager, Dan Smith, the hotel designers were also pleased with the fact that the M28 could be color-matched to the beige closets and could be sized perfectly to fit the interior shelves. This flexibility, as well as Elsafe's superior strength and security, proved to be a winning combination for the Sofitel Chicago. This is the fourth Sofitel project in North America to install Elsafes during the last two-year period. The Elsafe installation is a component of the Accor brand strategy for the North American market. The FF&E project was managed by Higgins Purchasing in Atlanta, the largest FF&E purchasing company in the US with annual volume in excess of $500 million USD.
