Customer: Located on the Grecian island of Crete and operated by Thomas Cook Northern Europe, the Ocean Beach Club Crete is a concept hotel renowned for its smart features, luxury design and relaxing atmosphere. With beautiful ocean views offered throughout the resort’s waterfront location, property leadership nonetheless recognized time consuming yet common hotel inconveniences that could detract from a guest’s ability to enjoy the hotel’s unique appeal. Challenge: With the property’s smart features, hotel staff wanted to keep a contemporary aesthetic while utilizing the latest technologies to enhance the overall guest experience. Wanting to remove the need for guests to wait at the front desk upon their arrival for check-in, Thomas Cook Northern Europe decided to implement ASSA ABLOY Hospitality Mobile Access at its latest concept hotel. A platform that enhances the resort’s contemporary image, ASSA ABLOY Hospitality Mobile Access also stands out with its ability of allowing guests to begin enjoying their hotel experience from the moment that they arrive. Solution: With ASSA ABLOY Hospitality Mobile Access, guests can now immediately access their room upon arrival. Working together with a mobile application on their smartphones, guests are able to follow the property map to head directly to their room and quickly make themselves at home. Acting as a secure and digital room key, guests simply enter their rooms with a quick swipe of their smartphone. As secure as it is convenient, ASSA ABLOY Hospitality also provides guests with complete peace of mind by using the latest in security access technology. The solution integrates with the hotel PMS to allocate a guestroom and generate a digital key that is encrypted and securely delivered to a guest’s smartphone, which then places the key in a secure key vault within the hotel’s mobile app. When presented to the appropriate lock, the app transmits the encrypted key via a secure communication channel, in order to unlock the door and allow access.
